A new process has been established “to ensure consistent and transparent decision-making in enabling trainee movement between London programmes, using defined criteria.” This process is called Intra London Programme Transfers (ILPT) and is now live. It recognises that during training individuals may experience significant changes in their personal circumstances that may make the continuation of training within their current programme more challenging.
For the purpose of ILPT, a significant change in circumstances relates to:
- new personal disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 or
- a significant change to caring responsibilities or
- a significant change to parental responsibilities
No other criteria than those listed above will be considered in relation to an application for an ILPT. ILPT is the only mechanism to apply for a transfer between London programmes. Applications made outside of this framework will not be considered.
Full information can be found via www.lpmde.ac.uk/ilpt including the eligibility criteria, how to apply and FAQs.
Remember that Inter-deanery transfers outside of London must also follow a defined process and has strict application windows (next deadline is Friday 5th September)
